PURPOSE: A method for displaying help words in digital television is provided to quickly understand the help words by outputting help words about a menu, when a cursor is located on the menu among various menus in a main screen. CONSTITUTION: A method for displaying help words in digital television, displaying a main menu screen on a screen of a monitor, comprises the steps of: outputting a menu screen; moving a cursor; recognizing a location of the cursor; reading help words data of a corresponding menu, when the cursor is located on the menu; and outputting help words which the help data is outputted. The process of outputting information on the help words outputs the help words data beside of the menu, by applying the data to an OSD(On Screen Display) buffer after reading the data of the menu where the cursor is located, by a controller applying a control signal to a storage unit on the basis of location data of the cursor on the menu. |
