PURPOSE: An underwater camera device is provided to minimize a camera set used in underwater, and to handle a signal line connecting a viewer used on a ground to the camera set easily. CONSTITUTION: An underwater camera device comprises a camera set(17), and a viewer (19). The camera set photographs in the underwater. The viewer is arranged in the ground or the underwater, has a power source, and displays underwater images photographed by the pickup device. The device connects the camera set and the viewer, supplies an electric power received from the power source, to the camera set, and has the electronic line transmitting the electronic image signal to the viewer. The camera set comprises a receipt case(10), an optical unit(13), a photo electronic converter(15), and signal processor(16). The case is waterproof and has a transparency plate. The optical unit is set up in the case, and creates an optical image of the underwater captured by the optical unit. The photo electronic converter is set up in the case, makes a signal charge responding to the optical image created by the optical unit, and makes electronic signals on the basis of the signal charge. The signal processor is set up in the case, and outputs the electronic signals on electronic signal lines by changing the electronic signals made by the converter, into image electronic signals.
