PURPOSE: A disk cartridge and a dust proof device in the disk drive system are provided to prevent dirt penetrating through the insertion/ejection slot from passing through the detection hollow of the disk cartridge body and entering the device body. CONSTITUTION: A main side of the cartridge(28) is regulated by the dust proof panel of a dust proof device(290) through the width direction, both sides of the cartridge body(28) is regulated by a dust proof arms(292,293) of the dust proof device(290) through the thickness direction, and the lower side of the cartridge body(28) is regulated by a dust proof plate(294) of the dust proof device(290) through the width direction. Accordingly, a second cartridge(22), under the conditions that it is mounted on the cartridge mounting position of a disk drive device(100), prevents dirt from entering the head device of the device body, as dirt accessed from a cartridge insertion/ejection slot(110) penetrates into a detection hollow(33) and a wrong recording prevention hollow(32) and enters the lower part of a cartridge body(28).
