The Wnt proteins are a family of secreted glycoproteins which, in many organisms, have a role in the morpholigical development of tissues in both embryonic and adult contexts. To date, about 13 human Wnt genes have been identified. The present invention provides a new form of human Wnt, designat ed "Zwnt1".
