The roof load carrier for a motor vehicle is made of hollow tubes with two longitudinal telescopic shells (6) clamped (13) at their ends with the vehicle roof rail (2). The shells contain extendable inner rods (7). The longitudinals are connected by similarly telescopic cross tubes and rods (9,10) have angle brackets (11).
