PURPOSE: A method for converting as to power save mode on a television set is provided to automatically output sound signals by a human body sensor. CONSTITUTION: A method for converting as to reduce power consumption on a television set having a micro computer turning off a switch unit for intercepting image power supply when a body is not sensed by a human body sensor comprises steps of: sensing whether the human body is presented through the human body sensor in a power-on state of television; re-confirming whether a present mode is a watching mode when the body is not sensed; outputting sound signals only by applying off-signals to the switching unit for opening/closing power, supplied to an image signal processor after confirming a whether a certain time re-elapses, when the recognition is decided on the watching mode; and outputting all the sound/image signals by controlling the switching unit, when the body is re-sensed after the certain time elapses
