PURPOSE: A flame holder of a heater is provided to prevent the integration of the soot on a flame holder or the discharge of the soot by transforming the form of a slit formed on the flame holder to make the flow of mixed air passing through the flame holder spread over the whole surface. CONSTITUTION: A flame holder ignites the mixed air of the exterior air and a fuel shifting toward a flame holder(50) by generating sparks by an ignition plug by spraying the fuel to the flame holder from a nozzle if the exterior air is flowed in via a fan and shifts to the flame holder. Herein, the mixed air passes a large hole(51), a small hole(53) and a slit(52). When the mixed air passes the slit, the rectilinear flow is changed into a swirl flow according to the guide of the incised face of the slit. Thereby, the mixing ratio of the mixed air rises, and the amount of the unburned fuel is reduced.
