METHOD FOR REDUCING CHARACTER ERRORS ON TV HAVING TELETEXT FUNCTION

PURPOSE: A method for reducing character errors on TV having a teletext function is provided to reduce character errors by readjusting AGC(Automatic Gain Control), when the bit error rate is grater than the basic rate. CONSTITUTION: A method for reducing character errors on TV having a teletext function comprises the steps of: deciding whether a teletext is selected in a TV power-on state; detecting bit error rates of characters when the teletext is selected; readjusting AGC(Automatic Gain Control) in a direction of increasing gains of a signal, when the bit error rates are bigger than a reference value; and repeatedly performing the steps while the TV power is on, until the bit error rates are under the reference value.
