PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a propellant as a homogeneous mixture of a fuel-enriched material, an oxidizing agent material, and a porosity-developing material by designing the porosity to compensate the inflation of the oxidizing agent material so as to enable its function usable in a motor vehicle to be maintained even after subjected to a specific temperature cycle. SOLUTION: This propellant as a homogeneous mixture of a fuel-enriched material, an oxidizing agent material, and a porosity-developing material is obtained by designing the porosity to compensate the inflation of the oxidizing agent material so as to enable its function usable in a motor vehicle to be maintained even after subjected to a specific temperature cycle; wherein the temperature cycle represents -30 to 80 deg.C; the porosity is designed to be 15-40 vol.%; ammonium nitrate is used as the main ingredient of the oxidizing agent material, its amount to be compounded is set to be 50-90 wt.%; nitroguanidine or the like is used as the fuel-enriched material, its amount to be compounded is set to be 5-30 wt.%; the porosity-developing material to be used is fibrous cellulose which is composed of fibrous cellulose fragments each with specific length and width, the length being >=5 times greater than the width, for example, when the porosity-developing material is composed of two kinds of fibrous cellulose, if the width and length of the fragment of one component are designed to be 2.5-250μm and 1,000-10,000μm, respectively, the width of the fragment of the other component is set to be 0.05-0.5μm.
