PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a modifying method of a passenger conveyor capable of elongating horizontal parts of a frame without executing the chipping work of a building. SOLUTION: In a modifying method for replacing a passenger conveyor comprising a frame 2 composed of the upper and lower horizontal parts 2a, 2b and an intermediate inclined part 2c, and a plurality of steps 3 endlessly moving in this frame 2, with a new passenger conveyor, the gradientαof the new passenger conveyor is increased in comparison with the conventional gradient. Whereby a dimension of the intermediate inclined part 2c can be shortened, and the lengths 2a, 2b of the upper and lower horizontal parts can be elongated for that.
