PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute the stapling just on a target position by forming the hollow staple marks on an upper surface and a bottom surface of a stapler at a position agreed with a staple receiving part. SOLUTION: A hollow staple mark 4 is formed on a point part of an upper surface 2 of an upper part 6 of a stapler at a position vertically agreed with a staple receiving part 1. A hollow staple mark 5 is formed on a point part of a bottom surface 3 of a lower part 7 of the stapler in a position vertically agreed with the staple receiving part 1. As a result, the positions of the staple mark 4, the staple receiving part 1 and the staple mark 5 are vertically agreed with one another. When the stapler is to be used, the documents are held between the upper part 6 and the lower part 7 while holding the stapler, and the documents are stapled while fitting the staple mark 4 to a stapling position. In the case of the stapling of a bag-shaped matter such as an envelope or the like, the folded part is to be stapled, so that the stapling is easily executed by fitting the staple mark 5 of the bottom surface 3 to a target position by holding the stapler with the bottom surface 3 upward.
