PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To omit wiping labor because no water is retained anywhere and dry a rice bowl sanitarily in a short time by providing drain holes for quickly draining water on the peripheral wall face of the rim of the bottom section of the rice bowl. SOLUTION: Drain holes 3 with the diameter of about 5 mm are provided at five positions nearly at the same interval on the peripheral wall face 5 of a bottom rim section 2 nearest to the outside bottom face 6 of a rice bowl so that at least the drain hole 3 at one position faces downward and water flows out when the rice bowl is faced downward in any inclined state. When this rice bowl is used, wiping labor is omitted, the drying time is shortened, the electricity cost can be saved resulting in energy saving, and the rice bowl is sanitarily dried. When the drain holes 3 are provided on the rice bowl, the drain holes 3 release the pressure of the thermally expanded air, thus such a phenomenon is prevented that the rice bowl is floated and slid, therefore the danger of a durn caused by the hot food and drink in the rice bowl when it is tumbled can be prevented.
