PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seat special for a rolling stock having a rotating means which is capable of quickly rotating all of seats of a rolling stock to be turned to the opposite direction, compact-size, light-weighted, and can be simply operated. SOLUTION: This seat comprises a movable upper part supported by a stationary lower part forming an under frame 16 for allowing at least one person to take a seat, and a means 28 for turning the upper part to be turned to the opposite direction and returning the same. The rotating means 28 comprises a carriage 30 fixed to the upper part, and the carriage is installed to be turned on a substantially vertical shaft Z connected to the carriage and move a straight guide 32 supported by the under frame 16 in the translation motion substantially right-angled to the rotating shaft Z. The rotating means 28 further comprises a means 52 for driving the translation motion of the carriage 30 and a meshing means for converting the translation motion of the carriage 30 to the rotary motion of the carriage 30.
