PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing reel having a trip link for shifting a bail position capable of completely suppressing the interference of the trip link with an operating surface of a link driving body. SOLUTION: An operative mechanism 14 mounted on a frame 12 comprises a spool 70, a rotor 20 rotatable against the frame 12, a bail member 48 capable of shifting the fishing line state between a thread casting position and a rewinding position, a rotor-operating member 22, a mechanism 18 for rotating the rotor corresponding the action of the rotor-operating member 22, a trigger 82 for changing the position of the bail member 48, a trip link 206 attached to the rotor 20 and a trip link-driving member 224. The trip link 206 changes its position from a retreated position to a protruding position by the move of the bail member 48. The trip link-driving member 224 can change its position between the first position and the second position, and it has an operating surface 222 for moving the trip link 206 from the protruding position to the retreated position by engaging with the trip link 206 when the driving member 224 exists at the first position, and the rotor 20 rotates.
