PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ophthalmic solution stable for a long time without becoming cloudy and forming precipitates by compounding a sulfa drug, sodium chondroitin sulfate and a paraben as an antiseptic. SOLUTION: This ophthalmic solution is obtained by compounding (A) 0.4-5 w/v%, preferably 2-5 w/v% of a sulfa drug, (B) 0.05-2 w/v%, preferably 0.1-1 w/v% of sodium chondroitin sulfate and (C) 0.001-0.2 w/v%, preferably 0.005-0.1 w/v% of a paraben as an antiseptic. As the component A, sulfamethoxazole (sodium), sulfisoxazole (sodium), sulfisomidine (sodium) or the like is preferably used. As the component C, methylparaben, ethylparaben, propylparaben, butylparaben or the like is preferably used.
