PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the yellowing of a white paper to be generated in the case of storing a hard copy in a file or sticking an adhesive tape on an ink acceptive layer in the ink jet recording and improve ink absorbability and coloring properties. SOLUTION: An ink jet recording sheet is provided with an ink acceptive layer containing a synthetic non-crystalline silica and a water-soluble polymer bonding agent at least one face of a substrate, and the above synthetic non- crystalline silica is formed of a synthetic non-crystalline silica of 50 ml/100 g-160 ml/100 g oil absorption amount blended with a synthetic non-crystalline silica of 200 ml/100 g-400 ml/100 g absorption amount at the ratio in the range of 1:10-1:1. An acid paper can be used as a substrate of the ink jet recording sheet.
