<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a burden to an occupant head part without increasing capacity of an air bag main body by constituting a peripheral edge part of a pair of side seats in a bag shape by joining with a side edge part of a belt-like center seat. SOLUTION: An expansion regulating tether 14 is formed in an almost cross shape out of a longitudinal belt part 14a extending in the vehicle longitudinal direction when an air bag main body 10 expands and a lateral belt part 14b extending in the vehicle lateral direction. A slit 14c is formed in the longitudinal belt part 14a, and a stage regulating means 14e joined by fuse sewing 14d by being folded back is arranged in a midway part. The longitudinal belt part 14a abuts to an occupant head part in an almost stretched-out state according to the occurrence of impact, and the slit 14c expands by supply of a further pressure fluid from an inflator to protect the occupant head part in a state of allowing the expansion in the vehicle lateral direction. Thus, the occupant head part is softly received by the air bag main body 10 without being pushed back in the swollen direction of the air bag main body 10.</p> |
