PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a back door structure for an automobile that is constituted so that a spare tire is supported by the back door to keep running ability on a bad road and a luggage compartment capacity, and an outer panel is prevented from being damaged in attaching/detaching of the spare tire. SOLUTION: An inner panel 21 of a rear gate body 20 is an opening 27 larger than the diameter of a spare tire S, and a tripod-shaped spare tire bracket 29 is fixed to the back surface of the peripheral edge of the opening so that the spare tire S can be stored from the opening 27 in a space portion 28 between the inner panel 21 and an outer panel 22. Thus, a spare tire storing portion 30 is constituted.
