PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a numeric value control device for a machine tool to easily grasp a tendency for the current value of a motor for a tool for a whole of machining and perform excellent finishing grinding in a short time. SOLUTION: A machine tool 1 comprises workpiece holding parts 4 and 6 to hold and rotate a workpiece 2; and a tool 12 for grinding relatively moved to the workpiece 2. The tool 12 is rotationally driven by a motor 24 for a tool. The motor 24 for a tool is connected to a current detecting device 26 to detect the current value thereof. The current detecting device 26 and an axial direction detecting device 20a are connected to a sampling device 38b, and after the current value of the motor 26 for a tool is sampled togetherwith the axial position of the tool 12 by a sampling device 38b, the data is stored at a memory device 40. A display device 48 displays a history of the current value of the motor 24 for a tool detected by the current detecting device 26 corresponding to the axial position of the tool 12.
