PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a frame forming member for rack which can be adapted to racks in various sizes, can be easily assembled on the job site and further is improved in strength and durability, and a sectional rack using this frame forming member. SOLUTION: The frame forming member for rack is composed of a metallic and hollow strut 1 having attachments 1e, 1f, 3e and 3f mutually perpendicularly projected at all the parts or one part of outside axial direction of an axial part, corner metal fittings 2 provided with insert projections 2c to be inserted to attaching holes provided at the upper and lower ends of the strut, a pair of link projections 2d and 2e mutually perpendicularly provided orthogonally with the insert projections 2c of these metal fittings, and metallic link pipe 3 in the same shape as the strut so as to insert and link linking holes provided at both end parts to the link projections of corner metal fittings. Besides, the sectional rack is composed of four upper and lower metallic connecting pipes, attachments mutually perpendicularly projected orthogonally to the axial direction of respective connecting pipes, outer surrounding members attached to the attachments of each strut and a lid body or a door body.
