<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove a hardness component in electrochemical treatment of water. SOLUTION: This device is formed by laminating plural metallic electrode units 1, each having spherical protrusions 1a on the surface, through electrical insulating spacers 2. The obtained device is dipped in the water to be treated contg. a hardness component with the units 1 directed vertically to treat the water. A current, when applied, concentrates on the spherical protrusions, the hardness component such as calcium ion in the water deposits on the negatively polarized face of the units 1 with the protrusions 1a as a center, and the deposited metal is released from the units 1 when a sort of power is exerted by the inversion of polarities, etc., dropped by gravity, accumulated in a deposit collecting member 9 and removed outside the system.</p> |
