PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the burning of a finish coat and allow a cutting work at a specific near distance from the base material of a hull by adopting a circular saw without any of input heat for cutting a lifting piece. SOLUTION: A cutting device is positioned in such a state as clamping the center part of a lifting piece 1 cut out with a lifting piece damp 7, Then, a lifting device 8 is operated to lower a cutting device and an electromagnet is kept in close contact with a base material 2. Thereafter, the electromagnet is activated and excited to keep the cutting device immobile. After all of the foregoing processes, a cutting circular saw blade 11 is started. As a result, two cutting circular saw blades 11 start rotation in an external opposite direction and when initial rotation reaches the specified number of revolution, the blades 11 traverses toward the lifting piece 1 as a cutting object. In this case, a cutting work is performed at a near distance of 10 mm from a base material at a constant speed. After the completion of cutting the lifting piece 1, the lifting piece clamp 7 is released and the lifting piece 1 is placed at the cutting position.
