<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance gaseous aldehyde absorbing ability by carrying a polyamine compound on granular porous silicon dioxide having a specified specific surface area, a specified average pore diameter and a specified grain diameter. SOLUTION: A polyamine compound of the formula H2N-(CH2CH2-NH)n-CH2 CH2NH2 [where (n) is an integer of 0-3] having two or more primary amino groups in one molecule is carried on granular porous silicon dioxide having 50-900 m2/g specific surface area, 0.1-10 nm average pore diameter and 0.1-100 mm average grain diameter to obtain the objective gaseous aldehyde absorbing granular porous body. Even when the gas absorbent is exposed in air for 12 hr in a drying step, it hardly adsorbs gaseous CO2 and can exhibit superior gaseous aldehyde absorbing ability in a subsequent evaluation test.</p> |
