PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems such as the abnormal noise, the partial abrasion of a cutter or the like by rotatably and slidably supporting one of a pair of cutting blades to a mount shaft in a wall paper slitter comprising a pair of cutting blades closely contacted with one another while staggered. SOLUTION: A slitter comprises a pair of upper blade 1 and lower blade 2 closely contacted with one another in a staggered state at both sides of the wall paper, and the wall paper is cut by this close contact part. On this occasion, a conventional D-shaped hole of a boss 14 for the lower blade is changed to a round hole, and the boss 14 is rotatably and slidably mounted on a lower blade mount shaft 3. The boss 14 is pressed to the upper blade 2 with the constant pressure by a pressing roller 6 and a spring 15. The boss 14 is slided against a spring 15 to constantly keep the contact pressure of the upper and lower blades, so that the boss can be smoothly rotated even when a blade surface of the upper blade 1 or the lower blade 2 is vibrated to some degree when the boss 14 is rotated in accompany with the upper blade 1 by the contact frictional resistance by the pressure.
