PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an device for automatically closing toilet seat/lid operates safely and accurately. SOLUTION: A control section 10 detects the nonexistence of a person is front of a toilet bowl after the excretion by both of a signal from a human being detection means 11 and a signal from a toilet operation detecting means and devices a driver 12 to turn a toilet seat and/or a lid 14 in the direction of closing. As a result, an accidental closing can be prevented even when a person is located outside the detection area of the human being detector, as during the cleaning. The human being detection means herein used is an ultrasonic sensor, a pyroelectric sensor, a range finger sensor, an infrared reflection sensor or the like to detect the presence of a human being in front of the toilet bowl.
