PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device concerning the tilting transfer device of a bank for tilting the bank stacked with many plate materials by about 90 deg. to transfer the bank onto a carriage, without requiring labor and damaging the plate materials. SOLUTION: This device tilts a bank B arranged and stacked with many sheets of plate materials B1 in the thickness direction by about 90 deg. to transfer the bank B onto a carriage, and is provided with a tilting machine 10 and a carriage 40. The tilting machine is provided with a plurality of nearly L- shaped tilting arms 11 arranged in nearly parallel at fixed intervals and integratedly connected together with a roughly horizontal common spindle corners; a tilting mechanism for tilting the tilting arms with the spindle as a fulcrum; a tilting machine moving mechanism advancing/retreating the tilting arms toward the carriage; and a bank grasping mechanism for grasping both end parts of the bank placed on the tilting arms. A plurality of nearly horizontal projecting pieces 44 capable of meshing with one arm sides 11b becoming nearly horizontal when the tilting arms are tilted are provided parallel on the upper face of the carriage.
