PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent toner particles from clogging holes of a substrate and facilitate cleaning of the holes in a toner jet type recording apparatus. SOLUTION: A substrate arranged between a recording roller for holding charged toner particles and a back electrode opposite to the recording roller for electrostatically attracting the toner particles is provided with a plurality of long holes 56 where the toner particles flying from on the recording roller can pass. Fly control electrodes 58 and electric field shield electrodes 60 are alternately arranged in the periphery of the long holes 56 so as to alternately form fly areas 62 where the toner particles pass and non-fly areas 64 where the toner particles do not pass inside the long holes 56. The long holes 56 are formed in a size to conform to a plurality of adjacent dots formed simultaneously on a sheet.
