PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ribbon cassette in which good recording results can be obtained by surely stripping a recording sheet from an ink ribbon and the ink ribbon can be rolled well. SOLUTION: A tension member 7 for imparting a substantially constant tension when an ink ribbon 5 used for printing is stripped from a recording sheer is arranged directly on the downstream side of a recording section in the entraining route of the ink ribbon 5 within a ribbon cassette 1. Preferably, the tension member 7 is a substantially columnar tension roller having annular protrusions on the outer circumferential surface thereof formed at least the upper and lower parts, respectively, at an interval in the axial direction.
