PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chain tension measuring device of a passenger conveyor capable of surely installing the passenger conveyor regardless of an existing one and a new one. SOLUTION: This chain tension measuring device comprises a bracket 13 supporting an idler sprocket 7 for applying the tensile force to a main chain 6, in such manner that it can be displaced in one direction, a detector such as a load cell 14 or the like mounted on this braket 13 for detecting the pressure force applied in one direction of the idler sprocket, and the displacement of the idler sprocket 7 caused by the tension of the main chain 6 is detected by the load cell 14. Whereby the failure relating to the chain tension can be prevented in advance, and the safety can be improved.
