PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nitrogen oxide removing device which is capable of displaying a high nitrogen oxide removing rate even in the presence of a sulfur oxide. SOLUTION: Inside recessed parts present on the surfaces of fibers 3, a composite matter comprising brown millenite-type composite oxide particles represented by either of formulae A3, B4, O9, A2B2O5 or AB2O4 (A, B are constituent elements) and catalytic particles of at least one noble metal selected from rhodium Rh, ruthenium Ru, gold Au, palladium Rd, iridium Ir and platinum Pt is present. The fibers 3 are obtained by compounding first fibers 3 in which the catalyst particles of one noble metal selected from Rh, Ru, Au, Pd, Ir and Pt are present and second fibers 3 in which the catalytic particles, of at least one noble metal selected from Rh, Ru, Au, Pd, Ir and Pt, which are different from the catalytic particles of the noble metal present in the first fibers 3, are present. |
