PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To hold the terminal end of printing paper flat even after the terminal end of the printing paper comes off a paper feed roller by setting the flat top face position of a recording medium regulating part within the arrayed range of dot forming elements. SOLUTION: This printer conveys printing paper 102 downstream (in a sub- scanning direction) by a paper feed roller 101, prints the printing paper 102 between a recording head 103 and a recording medium regulating part 104 according to printing data sent from an external computer or the like, and discharges the printing paper 102 outside of the printer by a discharge roller 105. A head face 107 is provided with a plurality of dot forming elements, that is, an ink nozzle array 106, arranged almost at constant pitch along the sub-scanning direction. A plurality of recording medium regulating parts 104 are disposed being spaced from each other in a main scanning direction. With this constitution, even after the terminal end of the printing paper comes off the paper feed roller, the terminal end side can be held flat.
