PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feeder for preventing generating of miss-furling of a paper sheet(s) caused by multi-feeding of paper sheets regardless of the number of paper sheets loaded on a hopper. SOLUTION: A device consists of a hopper 3 loading sheets of paper P in a standing condition, a separate plate 5c whose upper surface maintains a certain angle against the hopper 3 and which is arranged below the front side of the hopper 3, a separate roller 5b mounted on and supported by a shaft extending laterally so that it can rotate, at the vicinity of the separate plate 5c, and a pushing body 7. The pushing body 7 is slidably arranged between the lower part of the hopper 3 and the separate roller 5b on the separate plate 5, and is pressed toward the separate roller 5b, and has a form of which front surface maintains a certain angle against the separate plate 5c.
