RESCUE OPERATION DEVICE FOR ELEVATOR AT THE TIME OF FAILURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform rescue operation of an elevator easily and safely at the time of failure. SOLUTION: Closing a brake releasing switch 14 releases a brake 15 by the output of a battery power source incorporated in the control device 9 of an elevator, resulting in the movement and lowering of an elevator due to a weight difference between the elevator and a balance weight 2. The abnormal speed increase of a cage 1 can be prevented because the speed of the elevator at that time can be uniquely decided by a difference between the cage 1 and the weight 2, the load of the cage 1, and the capacity of a resistor 17 through the power generation braking to a permanent magnet type synchronous motor using a short-circuit circuit. Such action reaches the cage 1 to a floor 12 to engage a cam 11 with a limit switch 13 to open a normally-closed contact 13a, and consequently excitation of the brake 15 can be cut off to actuate the brake 15, thereby stopping the movement of the cage 1.
