PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an antibacterial agent exhibiting antimycotic activity, antibacterial activity and antialgal activity for a long period by compounding an inorganic ion exchanger supporting silver ion and a specific inorganic ion exchanger free from supported silver ion at a specific ratio and adjusting the water content of the mixture to a specific level. SOLUTION: The objective agent contains (A) an inorganic ion exchanger supporting silver ion such as antibacterial zirconium phosphate, antibacterial zeolite or antibacterial hydroxyapatite and (B) an inorganic ion exchanger free from supported silver ion and expressed by formula AaHbM(PO4)2 (A is an alkali metal, an alkaline earth metal or ammonium; M is a tetravalent metal; 0<=a<=2; 0<b<=2; m×a+b=2; M is valence of A) (e.g. titanium phosphate). The amount of the component B is 0.5-90 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. of A+B and the antibacterial agent has a water content of <=3 wt.%.
