PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce chips, the number of which having acute corner parts is reduced, by a chip crushing device. SOLUTION: A retraction crushing member 48, an inside crushing body 80, and an air supply blade 100 are rotated togetherwith a rotary shaft 30 by a rotation drive part 14. Long flow type chips charged through a chip charge port 44 and entangled with each other are first separated to the separation part 52 of the retraction crushing member 48 of a first stage crushing part 32 and crushed between a blade part 50 and a spiral blade part 46. Further, the two blade parts 46 and 50 retract a part of chips to a second stage crush part 34 side. Subsequently, at the second stage crushing part 34, the chips are crushed by outer and inner crushing body blocks 64 and 92. A gap between the two crushing blocks 64 and 92 has size not to allow shearing of the chips, and the crushed chips rub each other between the two blocks to round a corner. Crushed pieces passing through the mesh holes of a sieve plate 10 are received by a crushed piece receiver 124. Crushed pieces not passable through the sieve plate 110 are blown up by air supplied by an air supply blade 100 to repeat crushing. During the crushing, crushed pieces are collided with each other or each part of a device to round a corner.
