PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate attachment/detachment of a combustion-type heater to reduce a line installing time. SOLUTION: Before mounting of an engine 7 into a vehicle, a sub-assembly 10 integrally composed of a vehicle attaching bracket 3, a pipe 64, an insulator 71 and a clamp 9 is attached to a prescribed position of a vehicle body, i.e., a position between a partition wall 44 in an engine room and an engine mounting position, and then, an exhaust pipe 5 is attached to the vehicle body. After the vehicle is mounted with the engine 7 and mounted components related to the engine 7, such as an exhaust pipe, cooling water piping, and so on, a combustion-type heater 1 is installed to the vehicle attaching bracket 3 at a single operation such that an exhaust outlet pipe 19 is fitted into a large diameter part 68 of the pipe 64. Thereby, after the mounting of the engine 7 into the vehicle, clamping work for fixedly connecting the combustion-type heater 1 and the exhaust pipe 5 is not required.
