PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent disadvantage due to volatilization of an ink solvent and further to improve the efficiency of use of ink. SOLUTION: On the occasion when doctoring is conducted by a doctor blade 4 to fill ink in an intaglio 8, while the ink is supplied from a slit-shaped opening 5 for supplying the ink, the slit-shaped opening 5 is opened only when the ink is supplied. Moreover, retraction of the ink is executed after the ink is filled. Besides, a supply plate 1 is provided rotatably so that it is opposed, with a space between, to the face of the doctor blade 4 on the side in the direction of advance in relation to the intaglio 8 to be subjected to the doctoring.
