SOLUTION: In this sulky transplanter 1, the forward or backward movement of a travel frame 5 and a speed change operation can be switched by the operation of a speed change lever 41, and the sulky transplanter 1 is provided with a backup function for automatically lifting a planting portion 11, when the speed change operation lever 41 is switched to a prescribed position. Namely, when a planting switch 83 is switched on a planting work, various monitors and a warning device are operated. When the planting switch 83 is switched on and when the speed change operation 41 are switched to a backward movement, the planting section 11 is automatically lifted. Thereby, when the speed change operation lever 41 is switched to the backward movement at a time except a planting work, the so-called backup function is not operated, because the planting switch 83 is not switched on.
