PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing arbor and stably obtaining a healthy cultured plant in a state adsorbing injurious substances such as polyphenol compounds without requiring a complicated work by adding cellulose to a solid culture medium for culturing the shoot of the woody plant. SOLUTION: A shoot of arbor (for example, Crytomeria japonica or white ceder) is cultured in a solid culture medium containing cellulose. The content of the cellulose is preferably 0.05-3 wt.% based on the whole components of the solid culture medium. The cellulose is preferably cellulose flock from the points of adsorbability and dispersibility. Concretely, the method for producing the woody plant comprises sterilizing the surface of the axillary bud of the plant such as eucalyptus, placing the axillary bud on a solid culture medium, culturing the bud, subculturing the elongated shoot on a culture medium having the same composition to form a multiple shoot, dividing the multiple shoot, and again the divided shoots on culture media having the same composition. Therein, cellulose is added to the solid culture medium or media in either or all of the culture processes.
|
