PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a mat-like laminate, in which the overlapped portion of small wood pieces form a uniformly dispersed desired pattern and the attitudes of the small wood pieces are orientated to the longitudinal direction of the laminate and, at the same time, also obtain the mat-like laminate broader in a width direction. SOLUTION: Small wood pieces 4 on a first belt conveyor 1 is fed on a second belt conveyor 2, which is arranged normal to the first belt conveyor 1, reciprocates in the width direction of the first belt conveyor 1 to the first belt conveyor 1 and put into a state, under which its conveyance is stopped. After the formation of a small mat-like laminate 5 having a predetermined thickness on the second belt conveyor 2, the small nat-like laminate 5 is conveyed to the longitudinal direction of the small wood piece 4, resulting in transferring the laminate 5 on a third belt conveyor 3.
