PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently remove a phosphorus compound in excreta by adding iron base powder to the excreta of an animal, and catching the phosphorus compound in the excreta as a water insoluble component. SOLUTION: Iron easily reacts with phosphorus to form a stable compound, then the phosphorus compound can be caught only by adding the iron base powder to the excreta of the animal. A use quantity of the iron base powder is 0.1-10 wt.% for the excreta, preferably 0.3-5 wt.%. Among the phosphorus compounds, a water soluble phosphorus compound is chiefly caught with the iron base powder and changes to a water insoluble compound. Most portions of this compound are removed from the excreta together with the iron base powder in such a state that they are allowed to react and absorbed on the surface of the iron base. By utilizing magnetic property imparted on the iron base powder, the iron base powder has an advantage enabling to be collected and recovered with a permanent magnet or an electromagnet, etc. The iron base powder is preferred to be >=70 wt.% iron contents, and catching of the phosphorus compound comprises primarily a reaction with iron, then it is no problem on use that any compound except iron powder is incorporated in the iron base compound.
