PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cotton bar which becomes kept wet with the use thereof while kept dry during the unuse period. SOLUTION: This cotton bar containing an oil agent has a cotton body 2 near at least one end of a shaft bar 1 and the cotton body 2 contains a solid oil agent meltable in contact with skin. As a result, despite the containing of the oil agent, as the oil agent is solid, the cotton bar 2 is kept almost dry prior to the use. This eliminates stickiness or the like of the cotton body 2 attributed to the oil agent contained and also spillage of the oil agent from the cotton body 2. There is no drop in the strength of the cotton bar unavoidable with the shifting of the oil agent to the shaft bar 1. Thus, the containing of the solid oil agent achieves a better cleaning and wiping action.
