PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sponge cake having improved appearance to increase the buying inclination of consumers, a production apparatus for the sponge cake and a process for the production of the sponge cake. SOLUTION: The objective production apparatus is provided with a 1st vessel 24 holding a 1st dough 4, a 2nd vessel 25 holding a 2nd dough 5 having a composition nearly equal to that of the 1st dough and different color, a 1st feeding pipe 18 connected to the 1st vessel 24, a 2nd feeding pipe 19 connected to the 2nd vessel 25, a 1st transportation means 27 to transport a prescribed amount of the 1st dough 4 stored in the 1st vessel 24, a 2nd transportation means 28 to transport a prescribed amount of the 2nd dough 5 stored in the 2nd vessel 25, a plurality of molds 15 to bake the dough and a transportation controlling means to simultaneously operate the 1st transportation means 27 and the 2nd transportation means 28 positioning the tip end of the 1st feeding pipe 18 and the tip end of the 2nd feeding pipe 19 close to a common mold 15. A sponge cake bun having two or more colors on the surface can be produced by the use of the apparatus.
