PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cup holder for an automobile for holding a beverage can allowing easy insertion of a beverage can into a cup holder and securely hold it without tipping over and wobbling by sudden driving. SOLUTION: A guide rib 32 is installed in an inner wall of a holder part 30 to be slanted with respect to an inserting direction of a beverage can P, so the beverage can P is easily inserted into the holder and is securely held by a long-sized holding line expanding up and down along the slim-shaped can P. A front guide rib and a rear guide rib provided in the front and rear sides of the inner wall of the holder part 30 are protrudingly provided, slanting down in a mutually opposed direction, so that the beverage can P can be easily inserted from either front or rear sides.
