PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the handlability of a handle of an electric vacuum cleaner which has a cleaning body designed to integrate a cleaning port part and a main body comprising a filter and a fan motor. SOLUTION: This electric vacuum cleaner is provided with a cleaning body 5 designed to integrate a cleaning port part 1 extended horizontally and a main body 2 containing a filter 2-1 and a fan motor 2-2 in a stationary or vertical movable fashion and a handle 8. A contact part (contact 6-2 and contact 6-1) is provided at a link part of the cleaning body 5 and the handle 8 in an inclination range of the handle 8 to define an upper limit position and/or a lower limit position. At the upper limit position of the handle 8, the center of gravity of the handle 8 is given ahead of the link part and when the handle is released at the position, the handle is kept in place at a neutral position. When the handle 8,is released at a point other than the upper limit position, the handle 8 is shifted to the lower limit position by its own dead load and the position of a grip of the handle at the lower limit position is held within 30 cm above or below the average height of an upright palm of an adult. |
