PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a vehicle height by utilizing movement of both spring receivers provided in a vehicle damper housing a rebound spring within a damp er body, and providing the spring receiver seated at a free end of the rebound spring at any time to freely move to the damper body and a damper rod and a spring receiver provided on the damper rod to abut on the spring receiver so that the rebound spring is compressed. SOLUTION: In this damper for vehicle, a part 16a of a spring receiver 16 is magnetized, while a read switch 17 is provided on a part of a spring receiver 14 to abut on the magnetized part 16a. When the elongation of the damper becomes the prescribed value or above so that the spring receiver 14 abuts on the spring receiver 16, the read switch 17 is turned on. Accordingly, it is detected according to on/off of the read switch 17 whether a vehicle height is less than the prescribed value or not. |
