PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a plate member carried in a vertical state from falling sideways and stabilize a loading state by providing a turn-down part for turning down the plate member carried to a waiting position backward in the pressing direction before it is pressed by a pressing part. SOLUTION: A pressing part B is arranged on the carrying end side of a carrying part A, a plurality of support rolls 4 are arranged in parallel on a pressing machine base 3, and the support surface of the support roll 4 and the carrying surface of a carrying roll 2 are arranged so as to be flush with the loading level. The support roll 4 is controlled for rotation and stop by a drive part consisting of a drive motor and a chain mechanism to carry a plate member W carried from the carrying part A further to a pressing part B and also stop the plate member W in a waiting position. A turn-down part E is provided with a turn-down mechanism 16 for rotating a bottom member 14 and a side member 15 backward in the pressing direction to turn down the plate member W by the cooperation of the bottom member 14 and the side member 15.
