PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To discriminate the attitude of a patient by executing the extraction of the whole length of a pressurized area, its grouping and the extraction of the length of the largest group by means of pressurization data which is detected by means of a plurality of pressurization detecting means and discriminating the attitude of the patient from them and the stored discrimination attitudes. SOLUTION: 96 on/off pressure sensitive sensors, for example, are arranged in a matrix shape on the whole surface of a bed and a bed sensor is constituted. Then on/off data of the respective pressure sensitive sensors are obtained by a data obtaining means 10 and transmitted to a state discriminating part 30. The state discriminating part 30 discriminates the attitude and existence of the patient through the use of a reaction sensor number extracting means 31, a reaction sensor length extracting means 32, a reaction sensor grouping means 33, a max. group length extracting means 34, an existence discriminating threshold storage means 35, a state discriminating means 36 and a state discriminating result storage means 37. An alarm issuing presence or absence deciding part 40 decides presence or absence of alarm occurrence based on the discriminating result. Thus, the attitude of the patient is discriminated.
