PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automated warehouse which can reduce the area of installation, by turning a hand in association with a transfer motion of a transfer equipment so as to prevent the hand from being projected into a running path of a crane in order to eliminate the necessity of a space for preventing interference between the hand and the crane. SOLUTION: In a stocker 6 including racks 61 for carrying thereon cassettes 4, a crane 63 for transferring the cassettes 4 to and from the racks 61, and a transfer equipment 51 for introducing and delivering the cassettes 4, the transfer equipment 51 is adapted to turn an arm 53 provided at its both ends with turnable hands 52 for supporting the cassette 4, and during a turn of the arm 53, the hand 53 is turned with respect to the arm 52 so as to prevent the hand 52 and a cassette 4 supported by the hand 52 from being projected into a running path 62 of a crane.
