PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve air-permeability at a bottom of an article to store paper sheets without getting wet or moldy in a container used for storing and transporting articles such as books and newspapers by forming a vent groove on an article mount face on a bottom of a container body. SOLUTION: A compact container CS comprises a rectangular container body 26 including a rectangular bottom 23, a pair of first sidewalls 24 standing from rims of shorter sides of the bottom 23 and a pair of second sidewalls 25 standing from rims of longer sides. A pair of widthwise partitions 30, 30 and one lengthwise partition 40 are placed in an article storage space of the container 26. In this case, a plurality of rectangular through holes are formed simultaneously at the time of forming the container body 26 in an array parallel to the lengthwise and widthwise directions of the bottom 23 of the container body 25. In addition, a plurality of vent grooves exhibiting a grid form as a whole are similarly formed on an article mount face of the bottom 23 to attain air-permeability on a bottom of an article.
